When it comes to versatility, the Benjamin Marauder air rifle stands head and shoulders above the competition. This PCP (Pre-Charged Pneumatic) rifle offers a winning combination of accuracy, power, and a customizable shooting experience. Equipped with a shrouded barrel, the Marauder keeps the noise levels to a minimum, making it an excellent choice for both backyard plinking and serious hunting.

The Marauder is available in various calibers, including .177, .22, and .25, allowing you to select the one that best suits your shooting preferences. The two-stage adjustable match-grade trigger ensures smooth and consistent shots, adding to the rifle’s overall accuracy. #2. Gamo Swarm Magnum

Gamo Swarm Magnum 10X GEN3i Inertia
  • Brand:Gamo
  • Color:
  • Multi
  • Rounds:10
  • Caliber:177
  • Item Dimensions LxWxH:1 x 1 x 1 inches
  • Item Weight:6.88 Pounds
  • Team Name:Swarm
  • Air Gun Power Type:Spring-Piston
  • Barrel Material Type:Aluminum
  • Frame Material:Metal

The Gamo Swarm Magnum takes a unique approach to air rifle shooting by incorporating a 10-round rotary magazine system, allowing for rapid-fire action. Say goodbye to manual reloading and hello to uninterrupted shooting pleasure. This .22 caliber break-barrel air rifle boasts an impressive velocity of up to 1300 FPS, making it a formidable choice for small game hunting and target shooting.

One of the standout features of the Swarm Magnum is the Recoil Reducing Rail (RRR). This innovative system absorbs recoil, reducing stress on the scope and improving overall accuracy. Additionally, the rifle comes with a gas-piston power plant, which not only provides consistent power but also requires less cocking effort compared to traditional spring-piston rifles.

Key Features Gamo Swarm Magnum:

  • Caliber: .22
  • Weight: 6.9 lbs
  • Barrel Length: 21 inches
  • Magazine Capacity: 10 rounds
  • Power Plant: Gas-piston (IGT technology)
  • Max Velocity: Up to 1300 FPS
  • Noise Dampening: Whisper Fusion technology

I was thoroughly impressed with the sheer power that this airgun possesses. The rotary magazine functioned flawlessly, allowing for rapid and efficient shooting. However, there were a few aspects that didn’t quite meet my expectations. The scope, unfortunately, falls short and I would recommend replacing it right from the start. Around the 200-shot mark, I experienced pellet jamming in the barrel, which necessitated a suitable cleaning rod. I found that having a second rod proved useful in dislodging the pellets, amusingly enough.

Trimming the airgun to just over the barrel length is advisable to prevent damage to the loading mechanism when forcefully ejecting the pellet. On the bright side, the customer service was outstanding; when I had to replace the autoloader (called Gamo), they promptly sent a replacement part free of charge, arriving within just 4 days. That level of service earned them a well-deserved 5-star rating in my book.

Another thing worth noting is that the airgun exhibits varying performance with different grain pellets. Once you find the right match, stick with it for consistent results. I did encounter some issues with steel tip hornet pellets digging into the rotary mag case, leading to occasional jamming or failure to rotate.

Overall, I still recommend this airgun. Personally, I would opt for the 22 caliber version as the 177 seemed to deliver too much force, potentially passing through squirrels without effectively dissipating the high-velocity energy.
